Here's a little story from my childhood of what inspired this song. I hope you enjoy!

There was nothing like spending summer’s on the river on her families estate. This river in particular had these naturally cold springs that would rise up out of the ground underneath the flowing river, sometimes you could even see the bubbles and whirling of the spring being pushed up from, what seemed to be, the core of the earth. It was the opposite of a hot spring. Perfect for summer. One of her favorite pastimes was sticking her head underwater and pretending she was a lifeless object being swept away by the current. She would place her hand over the mossy rocks and watch the current and debris flow over her hand. The water wasn’t bothered by something standing in its way. She admired that, though she didn’t really understand why she admired it at the time. The way the current would change paces, speed up, slow down, rush passed or stand still was fascinating to her. Her family built a fire on the fire and was getting ready to cook hotdogs. The radio blasting something like Black Sabbath. She dunked her head underwater and let the current take her and she didn’t lift her head up for a long time, using her snorkel to stay under and keep herself submerged. She lifelessly bumped the rocks, tossed and turned and let the river take her. At one point, she closed her eyes and pretended to be dead. Finally, when she lifted her head up, she was in a place she didn’t recognize. The river had brought there and she was happy it did.
