about

Inside the vastness of the universe, who are you?

“Visions of a Nobody” is an EP that was initially inspired by my nature hikes I’ve been taking in the forests paired with some pretty bad depression I’ve been struggling with this year.
I imagined myself as a “nobody” in the vastness of everything and fighting to have even a small place in it all. And yet though I’m a nobody, we all, as humans and as a species are curious about death, life, what’s beyond space and time... All of it is such a wonderful mystery to us all and those mysteries are our right to question. And we happily ponder the meaning and depth of it.

Visions of a Nobody is an ode to that overwhelming feeling of being small in such a vast universe and still having that dream to be big somehow in this world. All three tracks (plus the bonus track on Bandcamp) are thoughtful, cinematic more ambient type synth songs.

Something that sets this EP apart from my other’s is that I intentionally kept these songs a lot more simple than my others I’ve released. Because this whole EP is an ode to being such a small part of the vastness of everything, I thought it was fitting to keep the production of these songs simple. So I didn’t want them to be overcomplicated or toiled over for too long.

Typically, my other releases have been quite complex including 20+ sounds/tracks for each song. But the most individual tracks that any of these songs in this EP has are 7 separate instruments which is minimal for me personally. With the last song - which I call a “bonus” track - “Nobody’s Business” - being only 4 tracks recorded live from my Korg ARP2600 which is the first song I’ve released in a very long time that’s recorded from a live, analog synthesizer.
Along with being my first solely live, analog synth track I've released in a long time and being the least amount of actual tracks in the song, it serves as my most ambient track I think I’ve released so far as well. And since “Nobody’s Business” was unplanned and I consider it a Bonus track to the EP, it will be exclusive to Bandcamp and only available here as apart of an exclusive bonus of this release.

If you’ve gotten this far in my description, I want to thank you. You’re a real one for even being here and I seriously appreciate you for taking the time to visit my Bandcamp and for checking out my new EP. It really means a lot. I hope you enjoy these tracks as much as I enjoyed making them!
